Professor at the School of Economics, Management and Statistics (former Faculty of Economics) as part of the Business Sciences department of the University of Bologna (offices in Bologna and Rimini), where he teaches subjects related to the management of tourism and culture. He has received a Ph.D. in Research in Corporate Management in 2005. He was Visiting Professor at New York University (New York, USA), Brunel University (London, UK), National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow and S. Petersburg, Russian Federation), University of Technology Sydney (Sydney, Australia), Institute of Hospitality Management (Prague, Czech Republic), University of Lapland (Rovaniemi, Finland), Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain) and Warsaw School of Economics (Warsaw, Poland). He has been invited as speaker on the tourism and culture industry on the occasion of several international, prestigious conferences in over 30 countries and devised EIASM, the International Conference on Tourism Management. He is a member of the Academy of Management and the European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management. His scientific contributions have been published on several journals, among which Industrial and Corporate Change, European Accounting Review, International Studies of Management and Organization, International Journal of Cultural Policy, International Journal of Business Environment, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, International Journal of Learning and Intellectual Capital, Anatolia. He's collaborated with prestigious publishing houses such as Edward Elgar, Palgrave-Macmillan, Routledge and Springer. He's contributed to “Turismo Italia 2020”, the first Strategic Plan for the Development of Tourism in Italy, published in January 2013.
