Professor Lanzolla’s research revolves around competitive advantage and its sustainability in rapidly changing technological and institutional environments. His articles have appeared in leading outlets including: Academy of Management Review, Harvard Business Review, Production and Operations Management, Long Range Planning, Business Strategy Review and Journal of Management. He is an Associate Editor for Long Range Planning and his research has also been widely featured in the media including in the Financial Times, the Economist, the Wall Street Journal, CCTV and CNBC. Professor Lanzolla teaches Strategic Leadership, Leading Digital Transformations and Diversification Strategy courses to MBA students, both in Cass’ London and Dubai campuses. He has also directed the Cass China MBA Programme (2000 - 2014) and has designed and directed the Silicon Valley MBA Study Tour (2014 - present). From 2009 to 2013 he was the Director of the Cass MSc in Management, programme that he completely re-designed and led to become one of the leading MSc programmes in the World (as per FT's ranking). He has yearly been awarded several teaching prizes, including the Cass’s Teaching and Learning Excellence prize and the Student Voice Award. Professor Lanzolla consults and gives talks for companies worldwide. He has worked with leading companies including Microsoft, British Telecom, IBM, Vodafone Group, Vodafone India, Ericsson, Axel-Springer, De Persgroep, SKY UK, Times of India, Unicredit, ING Group, Bank of New York-Mellon, Allianz, some German manufacturing mittlestand (Vaillant, KION) and international conglomerates (Alturki, Barloworld, Alghanim). Professor Lanzolla holds a PhD in Strategic Management and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering (Dean’s list).
