Giulia Campanini is currently working as Brand Manager for Bahlsen, the renowned food company. In her recent past there’s a Full-time Business Management Master’s, her track being Retail Management and E-Commerce at BBS, of which she particularly appreciated the “ability to direct you, right away, to the labor market”.
Tell us about your professional career.
At the end of the master’s I joined, as an intern, the marketing office of Blubai, a distributor of Food & Beverage for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector. To date I have been working for almost five years in the Italian Business Unit of Bahlsen – a large German company that produces cookies and industrial confectionery. Bahlsen is a big multinational company, combining business aspects with the history of a family, and today the fourth Bahlsen generation is leading the company. My journey within the company is marked by dynamism and growth. I was given the opportunity to develop commercial skills in the sales office, to then become Junior Trade Marketing. For the last three years, almost, I’ve been working in the Marketing division, I’m in charge of PiCK UP! and the brands we distribute for the Italian market.
The FMCG industry is a real learning environment, and for this, I’m convinced I want to stay in this world that offers constant inspiration and challenges.
Why did you decide to continue your education and how did you choose BBS?
After the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Management and an agri-food marketing course, I nurtured my interest for the FMCG world, studying in depth all the different concepts linked to marketing mix.
My idea was to find a study program that would enable me to complete my training, providing both theoretical notions and practical aspects. Thus I enrolled at the Bologna Business School where I attended, during the academic year 2013/2014, the Business Management Master’s, and my track was Retail Management and E-Commerce.
According to you, what are the program’s strengths?
Among the master’s strengths I’d definitely mention the ability to direct you, right away, to the labor market.
The faculty, the external guests and the project works provide the opportunity of a constant exchange of views with different profiles and skills that enrich your training, in a comprehensive way.
What would you suggest to someone who’s about to choose BBS?
For sure, BBS taught me to work under pressure, it led me to a world in which to be able to work in a team, to be multi-tasking and open-minded are vital aspects. So, my piece of advice is not to get scared if the activities and the external inputs may appear to be ”too many and all at the same time” but to actively participate, taking in as much information as possible, trying to capitalize on everything because in the future – in the world of work – everything will be helpful.
