#MBALecture: Start up Nations for a Start up Region

Francesco Maria Talò, the Italian Ambassador in Israel, will meet the Community of BBS to speak about the economical relationships between Italy and Israel.

The MBALecture “Israel and Italy_x000b_ – Two EXPOnential partners” will focus on the trade balance between the two countries, and the idea of an intraregional policy for the commercial development of  the Mediterranean Area. In fact, Israel is a big-spender of Italian exportations goods, while Israel is one of the most technology-oriented economy in the world.

With a population of about 8 million in an area of 20,700 sq km (roughly the size of Sicily Region), Israel represents the largest concentration worldwide of startups per capita. In absolute terms, the so called “Silicon Wadi” is the 2nd largest concentration of technology related start ups after California, with 5,000 startups and 750 Venture Capital backed companies. Moreover, almost 10% of the local workforce works in High Tech, mostly working for multinationals.
