Davide Bollati, Chairman of Davines, will be the speaker of the Innovation Talk ‘In the Business of Sustainable Development‘, the last appointment of the Fall Edition. Starting from the experience of Davines, a BCorp that represents Italian excellence in the world, Davide Bollati will discuss with the BBS Community the creation of new business models based on sustainability, responsibility and transparency. The event is organized in collaboration with Philip Morris Italia.
Founded in 1983 by the Bollati family in Parma, Davines is an Italian group operating in the Beauty sector that meets the highest standards of sustainability. Already since 2006, it uses for its plants electricity from renewable natural resources, while in 2016 the company became a BCorp, a benefit corporation that in the exercise of its economic activity, in addition to the purpose of sharing its profits, pursues the goal of generating a common benefit.
According to Davide Bollati, in order to achieve these objectives, it is necessary to start from the foundations on which the company is built. Davines’ ideal of beauty is expressed through practical and ‘sustainable’ efforts, which have to do with responsibility for their collaborators, their customers and the world in which the group operates. Davines’ vision of sustainability is also expressed through the commitment to minimize environmental impact, ethics, transparency and collaboration.
“We only use renewable energy resources, valuable and natural ingredients, always adopting the right scientific rigor, in order to ensure maximum safety for our consumers.” – Davide Bollati
The new headquarters of the company, renamed The house of sustainable beauty, inaugurated in September this year near Parma, perfectly translate the company’s philosophy into a sustainable architectural project that covers an area of 77 thousand square meters. The minimum presence of built components, the maximum architectural transparency, the vision of the green from every work station, the use of natural materials such as wood and a peculiar type of cement able to capture polluting substances, are just some of the characteristics of the new premises, signed by the architect Matteo Thun.
The BCorps, of which Davines is a particularly virtuous example, are companies that are rewriting the way of doing business. Their economic activity, besides creating profit, generates a positive impact on people and the environment, by working in a responsible, sustainable and transparent way. The BCorp movement has a tangible and at the same time revolutionary objective: to create well-being and to define a new business paradigm that is appropriate to our times, concrete and replicable.
For the final session of this Fall Edition, we are pleased to invite you to toast and exchange greetings with us.
The event will be held in Italian and English language, with simultaneous translation.
