Two days of meetings and testimonies on FIWARE, an open source platform and development standard promoted by the European Union for the development of intelligent solutions.
The initiative falls within the wider context of the Digital Agenda of the Emilia-Romagna region, with the aim of promoting FIWARE to regional SMEs and Start-ups.
The FIWARE standard was developed as part of the European program FI-PPP, which involved the EU collaborating with the major European ICT industries for a total investment, both public and private, amounting to around 450 million Euro.
FIWARE provides core technologies for developing applications that are useable on any connecting device by integrating technologies for the Internet of Things, Big Data, Security and Privacy, Networks, and of course a cloud-based infrastructure. All FIWARE technologies are developed as Open Source Software and are thus available to adapt free of charge.
The event is geared towards local SMEs and start-ups of the territory that operate in the IT sector: each company may send up to two participants.
